I think I have my first sale, may be speaking too soon but it's damn
exciting so let's see! Now I have to work out the best way to package
all the goodies so they arrive fresh and rested after their round the
world trip to their new owner!
Getting a bit behind on
the sewing front this week with all the internet social networking
activity to be done! I need some kind of way for the info to be
permanently scrolling on the screen in front of me, perhaps many
screens, and then voice activated searching and blogging and email
answering capabilities. Then I can just sit and sew as well!
This
evening was slightly screwed as well as I forgot to checkout on my
online grocery shopping so we waisted and waited till 10 before I
decided to check and found that I had done it again! Think it's the
third time I have done this, done all the shopping gone through all the
regular screen and then they check so many things and keep asking if you
are sure and all that and I must have missed the last one (it was
already midnight last night when I did it as I, and him, had forgotten
to do it earlier). Aaaaargh, no food. Living away all week - we rely on
having the shopping meet us here when we get in on a Fri, otherwise
nothing :( Fail! Still, good job we live a few doors down from a kebab
shop!
So just for pleasure tonight I include some of my
earlier work from last summer. I was doing some mixed media work - wall
hangings and art books etc. Let me know what you think.....

Third
day on the job and blogging is going ok. A lot better than my current
day job I can tell you!. I am so itching to get started now. I have
so many ideas buzzing around in my head and try as I might to be
sneakily looking things up and reading around at work the internet their
has been too damn slow for words today!! Whilst I figure on trying to be patient and that any information,
however slowly it
filters down to me, is better than nothing; there is only a certain
point that I can stand before I have to walk away lest the computer gets
hefted out of the nearest (unopenable) window.
Downloading some pictures from my camera, things I have had on there for ages:
Gorgeous poly bear head from a Xmas display at Botany Bay in 2009. When I wanted to buy one I was presuaded it was too early (being October) then when I went back they had all gone!
They didn't have them this year.......
My shop is going to be full of them when I find them to stock, beware!!!
Also found these from a display in Selfridges (I think!) in 2009, when I was still a footwear buyer and doing some research...
Amazing huh!

Blog Too :)
Quickly
writing this blog whilst working away and having to write in outlook,
as gmail has such an un-inconspicuous and outlandish colour scheme
ppl can see what you are writing from a mile away! Not that I need to
hide, surely I can allow myself 5 minutes of blog writing indulgence
near the end of the day; after all I have worked for four years without a
lunch break! Oh silly me; all those hours I
could have spent blogging, crafting or just getting out!
So
tonight, planning my evening and the next escapades of Elliemagpie and
what to do first! I have sheep to stuff, giraffes and elephants to
create,
apples to assemble and teddy bears to plan. And I need to list some
more items on some sites, tweet and follow, write more of my business
plan and read more of my lovely book ‘Starting a business from home’
from my lovely thoughtful boyf. Lols. Where does
one start……….?? And where does one end…….?
For
your delectation this is a picture of a sheepskin. Lol. Seriously I
love holding these naked and un-stuffed creatures up for boyf to guess
their final calling. Sometimes he even gets them right! Other times I
think is mind is not really on the matter :(
This
is the miniscule amount of mohair bear fabric I generously bought
myself to try out a Scandinavian inspired scruffy Ted. I think I have to
rid the ‘face’ of fur as well somehow – do I shave it? Or pluck it?
Thanks for reading :)

Here we go..........!
First blog, and already I made a booboo - first word came out as fist! Not sure anyone wants one of those!
Oh what to write, what to say, so many thoughts and not enough fingers to get it all down.
Starting with a bit of history and a bit of where I am now. The corporate has finally got the better of me and having been informed of the 'risk of redundancy' of my once loved but now a little bit staid job I am now making a full blown effort to get some of my ideas, crafts and loves off the ground and into something brilliant.
I have a passion for making things, for beautiful things, for sweet, cute and pretty things and I want to be surrounded by them. I want to immerse myself in my passion and get excited about all the things that I and others have made, simply for the pleasure of just having them.
I knit, sew, cross stitch, design, print and turn my hand to any craft that comes my way. I am inspired by choosing all the components for a given project and then building, making and developing it to its final state. My recent forays have been into crafting Tilda style projects, all manner of soft toys and animals.
This is a basket of recent stuff. I am trying to learn how to take the best pictures for displaying my wares on various craft websites. This in itself has been quite a challenge - any tips and pointers will be most welcome. Maybe it is best if I just throw it all in the basket.......
